Privacy Policy

Last updated: 5 November 2026

This policy explains what personal data deandeservienti.com (the “site”) collects, why, how long it is kept, and the rights you have over it. In short: the site sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising trackers. It asks you for personal data only if you write to us, including to order a book or to ask for a release notice.

1. Who is responsible for your data

The data controller is Massimiliano Biasiol, who writes as Dean De Servienti (“we” in this policy), c/o Fabio Frappi Poldini, Piazza San Giovanni 8, 18014 Ospedaletti (IM), Italy.

For any privacy question or request, write to info@deandeservienti.com.

2. What we collect and why

You don’t have to give us any personal data to read the site. Without your contact and delivery details we cannot fulfil an order, and that is the only consequence. We do not make automated decisions about you or build profiles of you.

3. Cookies and similar technologies

The site itself sets no cookies. If you turn the music on, your browser remembers that choice in its local storage, so the music stays on next time. The choice is never sent to us, and turning the music off removes it. The site uses no analytics, advertising or social media trackers, so there is no cookie banner. If that changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first where the law requires it.

4. Who receives your data

We do not sell your personal data or share it for advertising. It is handled only by the providers that help us run the site, under contracts that limit how they can use it:

We may also disclose data where the law requires it, or where it is needed to protect our rights or someone’s safety.

5. Links to other sites

The site links to other services: YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, X, Goodreads and BookBub. Nothing from them is embedded here, so they receive nothing about you unless you follow a link. Once you do, that service’s own privacy policy applies.

6. Transfers outside the EU and UK

Our hosting and email provider is in the United States, and other providers may process data in other countries. Where a country has no adequacy decision from the European Commission or the UK government, we rely on recognised safeguards, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework for certified companies or standard contractual clauses. You can ask us for details at the address above.

7. Your rights

In the EU, the UK and similar jurisdictions

You have the right to:

You can also complain to your local data protection authority, for example the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali in Italy, the CNIL in France or the ICO in the UK. We would welcome the chance to put things right first.

In California and other US states with privacy laws

Where these laws apply to us, you have the right to know what personal data we hold about you, including its categories, sources and purposes, and to have it corrected or deleted. In the past 12 months the categories have been identifiers (name, email address, postal address, IP address), commercial information (book orders) and internet activity (the server log details above), collected as described in section 2.

We do not sell personal data or share it for targeted advertising, and we will not treat you differently for using your rights. California residents may also ask what personal data was disclosed to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. We make no such disclosures.

The site does not track visitors across other websites, so it does not respond differently to Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signals.

How to make a request

Email info@deandeservienti.com. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we aim to reply within one month. In some US states you may name an authorized agent and appeal a refusal by writing to the same address.

8. Children

The site is for a general audience and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13, or from anyone below the minimum age for consent in their country. If you believe a child has given us personal data, please write to us and we will delete it.

9. Security

The site is served over an encrypted connection, and we limit access to personal data to the people and providers who need it. No system is completely secure, but if a breach puts your rights at risk we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the date above. If a change significantly affects how we use your data, we will also say so clearly on the site, and ask for consent again where required.
